Hi guys just upgraded from a Freelander to my first D2. Picked it up yesterday. The problem is the three amigo lights come on after about 20 minutes driving. The seller has told me they come on intermittently as the air suspension has been converted to springs "IS THIS RIGHT". As It is definitely not intermittent its comes on every time I drive it. Any help would be appreciated guys. I really hope I haven't bought a dud!
 
I would suggest you find someone with diagnostics to get it checked out.

nanocom / hawkeye or lynx.

I did not think that the three amigos came on if the suspension was changed tbh.
 
Not what I wanted to here. I was thinking the same thing myself. He's saying its definitely the suspension thats doing it. Hope its not going to be a massive bill. Not going to be a very good start to owning a Discovery.
 
From what I know of it, there is a possibility of bringing up the 3 amigos after changing to springs, and that's if some damage was inadvertently done to either of the rear hubs and/or rear sensor wiring during the changeover.
The only other warning might be from the SLABS ECU, and that will come from not having changed the suspension type setting.
Either way hooking up to compatible diagnostics code reader is necessary.
It could well be a cheap fix, but you won't know until you read the codes.
 
Thanks for your help guys. Got it booked in for diagnostics on Friday. Fingers crossed it isn't going to be big bucks!
 
It could be anyone of the 4hud sensors or the ace shuttle value , but if its been switched to spring do you know if its been reprogramed to know its got springs now not air?

Haven't got a clue mate. Only going by what the seller has told me. Just hoping it's not going to be to expensive to rectify.
 
Your seller doesn't know diddly squat. Don't panic though. 3 amigos "can" be sorted for £70, plus diagnostic costs.
I pay £30 for a local garage to read codes. Mine have always (3 times now) been mis-readings on the abs sensors. Changed the hub indicated as faulty each time, then get the codes read/cleared again (because the lights have come on before I get it fixed) and all sorted.

If you have to pay someone to change a hub then I suggest you sell it. You WILL need to do these sorts of jobs on a D2 or they are too expensive to run!!
 
As I've said, you WILL need to get the codes read, otherwise you're going to be chasing around changing this and changing that 'cos somebody says "that's what happened to mine" and trust me, that will get expensive.
The 3 amigos usually, but not always show if there's a problem with a hub/speed sensor, but there are four of them at around 80 quid a pop, so finding out which is the faulty one is pretty well essential, but there's also the possibility that it's a fault on the Shuttle Valve Switch Plate which is under the ABS modulator, not ACE as has been suggested. Even if you change the switch plate at the same time as doing the mod it'll cost about 40 quid.
There are some less usual causes, but only getting the codes read and the historical codes cleared after the work will sort things out.
As long as you know where you're going then it shouldn't break the bank.

Not related to your 3 amigos problem,

It is the Emergency Key Access code. in case your key fob stops working / talking with the car. Other wise the alarm and immobiliser will not switch off. It is a 4 digit code, if you have the owners manual it is written about in there.
Should be on your security card, Also available from LR FOC with proof of ownership, or if you know someone with a nanocm they can get it for you.

Can't rate the LR Center in Liverpool highly enough. The fault lies with the ABS shuttle valve they have reset the faults and told me to drive the car over the weekend, if they don't come back on it's happy days if they do the valve will need replacing. They also diagnosed a small leak from the rocker box gasket so there going to sort that out to. Not happy having to pay money on a car I haven't owed for a week. But it could of been a lot worse. :)

I haven't got the owners manual so i'll have to get it from LR. I also only have one key. Reckon I definitely need a spare. Are they only available from LR? Thanks for your help by the way. :)

Nice one mate. It was the shttle valve.
