Well, they certainly put up a lot of signs about the cliffs being dangerous and barriers to stop you finding out for yourself. I seemed to be the only person there without a selfie stick.

Yes, that's the one. I try and find supermarkets rather than service stations en route. It seemed to be a good night for roadworks altogether. There was a bit of the M5 that was closed for bridge repairs, and parts ofthe M42 and M6 were down to one lane. So it took a while to get back. Yes the Temple roadworks are quite impressive. That A30 as a whole is very fast now they've built bypasses and dual carriageway-ed most of it.

Yes, 'winter draws on' as my grandmother used to say. Safely back home now and having my supper.

Nice threads. Go down that way a lot to visit family at Downderry. Near Loewe. Cornwall still great despite the second home incomers. Looking for another road trip? Try south west Wales out to Pembrokeshire. St Davids smallest city in UK and spectacular cliff scenery which has great access cos its a National Park. Not so sure about the pub's though .

Yes, I trundle around Wales quite a bit. I haven't been down to the far south west corner for a while though, so could be worth another visit. I was last there in that cold snap in the spring of 2013. There's the odd picture scattered about my postings but I haven't done a whole thread on it.

Forgot to look at the odometer before I set off, so I don't know how far I've gone. However, the AA Driving Directions web page calculates 320 miles from my house to Land's End, so given all the detours, I could have covered in the region of 700 miles. There are a few more pictures at https://www.flickr.com/photos/badbadmagpie/ The Land Rover was developing some interesting new rattles on the way home. I think they were coming from the front bulkhead area. I see the screws on some of the dashboard components are coming loose so I'll tighten them up and hope that quietens things down.
