Things to have in the shed now I am a Defender owner ?

Just got my 110 a few weeks back and started to add stuff to the shed due to both requirements and expectations , presently I have added

• Selection box of Stainless Steel nuts and bolts
• Selection of stainless self tap screws
• Rivnut selection
• Rust converter paint
• Heavier duty socket set and breaker bar
• Added a couple of spanner sets to my collection in expectation
• selection box Cable connectors
• Torque wrench capable of landrover loads
• Heavy duty jack
• Haynes Manual, plus PDF's of workshop manuals
• Overalls ( LOL , really do own a defender now )

Still on expected to get list

• heavy duty axle stands , my old one's wont cut it and wont risk them
• Waxoyl for under body work

Quick question, what else as seasoned defender owners do you think needs to be in the average Landrover owners shed ?

Box of plasters, mig welder and a punch bag

A padded corner in the garage where you can go and cry on a bad day. I'm having one of those today. I seem to repair one thing only to bugger up two more things. Its not playing ball with me today.

The list is almost endless, but a good quality 3/8 and 1/2 socket set. And 2 good spanner sets is a good start.

Yep , recon thats going to be the fun one

Cordless and corded high power drills, angle grinder and loads of grinding/cutting discs, every type of hammer on the market, including a sledge! (seriously, a lump hammer is invaluable for smashing things that are annoying you). Loads of old tshirts/towels/rags, a power bleeder, a crawler, a stereo for the long nights. Hidden bottle of whiskey for the difficult times

Stereo/ digital radio is a great shout.

Circlip pliers,
Wheel bearing box spanner.
Fan removal spanner.
Oil pump for G box, T box and diffs.
Safety Glasses, ( as that mud and rust mixture makes your eyes sore).

Oh and as an aside, Stainless bolts are not the best for all applications.

Finally , really important as you WILL need this at some point. A sense of humour, for when you fix one thing and two others break on you.

Cable ties, jubilee clips, selection of hammers, angle grinder and thin discs!

Without a doubt the thing I use most (other than sockets, hammer and spanners) is a bench grinder with a wire wheel on.
I clean everything on it as I can't be bothered to replace bolts if I can clean them.
Copper grease too

For the more advanced owner - Engine hoist, lathe, milling machine, MIG welder, spare chassis, oil pump for filling gearboxes, tolerant missus (or Mr if that way inclined)

Surprisingly, something I use a lot is my 1/4" socket set. There are a lot of little nuts and bolts on a Land Rover, often with limited room for a large 1/2" head ratchet. Plus there are a lot of bolts into soft alloy housings which need gentle torque so as not to strip them.

If you're doing a lot of dismantling then an impact wrench (opinions differ as to the merits of cordless, corded or compressed air) is a big help and many of these can easily spin off nuts that would be hard to manage by conventional means. Suspension components for example.
