Can you tell me if the cylinder part the handle is fixed to is threaded or clearance drilled through.clearance Also the thread coming out the bottom looks smaller dia than the top one ?yes - it is the same thread as the rivnut you are trying to fix Asking as I'm going to have a go at making them. Once I find someone with a metal lathe.
watch the video - it is self explanatory...

How good is it with stainless steel rivnuts they all seem to demonstrate with aluminium rivnuts but never stainless, which I tried with the old nut n bolt method and was near impossible without using a extension bar on the spanner and a second body to help hold it.

No idea - not used it. Wonder how they stop the Rivnut thread from turning?
I would think its pressure on the shoulder on the rivnut, and the bottom of the drilled sleeve once you start tightening it. Like you, I've never used one so don't know. All will become clear once I have a go at making one....I hope.

on my one there are like teeth on the bottom so it grips against the rivnut , will try and find it, famous last words and take a pic

Done. 4 off 25mm long stainless bar, drilled for M5, 6, 8 & 10. I got 70mm long stainless fully threaded bolts and works a treat.
