Nice work K9GDO, I'll be keeping an eye on your thread since I'm having problems with a wet passenger footwell! Just had my windscreen refitted and sealed properly but hadn't noticed the floor beforehand, so not sure if it's from when the window leaked or something else.

Cheers
Coops

Thanks Coops! According to the former keeper, he couldn't find the leak source. He sealed the sunroofs, mastic the gaskets and everything. The Disco is all stripped now, It's been raining for the last couple of days. I can not see any water coming in anywhere. I can see some (white ish) water marks,( which I guess they are old) coming from the drivers side windscreen pillar, down to the foot well. I think he solved the leaks, but he did not get rid of the water that acummulated in the footwell. Hence all the mould and all. I Will be keeping an eye on it, I will also go to a drive thru car wash. If nothing comes up, I will fit all the parts back in. At least all the parts will be all clean, re- upholstered, resprayed, and NOT smelly! :)

Thanks for watching this thread.

Still leaking...I decided to reseal the sunroofs as the previous owner only mastic them from the ouside, I will take the roof bars off and refit them. I will replace a rusty hinge, driver's side mirror, and a broken stop lamp. All are possible reasons.

Just found the disco full of water in the back, after a week of rain...and I found a few signs on the floor under the front sunroof...

Not too much time on my hands today but I have taken the front sunroof off and resealed the plastic rim. The weather was not too good so I decide I will reseal the glass some other day. I have only fixed drainage parts provisionally underneath.

I have also treated some rust, and got rid of the sound deadening material in one of the footwell as it was water under it.

Improvsed a "complex water detection mechanism" as you can see in the pictures :)

Let it rain!

A good weekend to everyone.

Hi K9GDO, got similar problems myself so interesting to follow your thread! My passenger footwell was wet due to blocked aircon drains but that was sorted about a month ago and carpets are still damp! Looks like it's carpets out job for me as well. Also have baggy headlining...what do you plan on recovering yours with? Looks like you're doing a right good job! Keep the updates coming.

Hi Shooter! Thanks for watching my thread. I am planning to cover it with foam backed (3mm) PU leather. My headlining is pretty bashed, it has crinkles and I thought a thicker type of material will be the best option.

I have installed the carpets back in already. I think they will take a long time to be dry again if you do not take them out.

Good luck with your project shooter!
