Disco 2 td5 auto engine removal and refit

right as ive had the head off n i only just got a hoist and weather just getting better i started taking bolts out of box to find bottom of box to have been cut hmm? no idea why then realized this so called mechanic who fitted last engine must have been a cowboy even the engines sump nut was hand tight just so many botches i just hope when i refit the engine the car will move as the M&S light was flashing on the dash fingers crossed n with luck ill have old engine out and new one in tomorrow just gonna get new engine steam cleaned first then ill fit the alternator and other bits i just need to replace the hose on the bottom where it joins the solid pipes together does anyone know what holds the torque converter on to fly wheel

3 13mm headed bolts ,ensure t/c is fitted fully in to box before fitting the engine

TC goes on the g/box ...

how will i know if said cowboy mechanic didnt **** it up will i know while i have engine out

when t/c is fitted to the box fully , measure from outer face of bell housing down to outer most face of t/c threaded lugs, then measure outer most face of drive plate back to rear face of the engine, the t/c measurement must be 1 or 2mm greater

if it was refitted wrong would i be able to notice anything by turning T/C

well engines out t/c was held in by 3 x 15mm bolts
