have replaced wiper arms, wiper blades, spindles, cable, worked okay for a couple of weeks wipers went again replaced motor, relay ,wiper stalk , motor runs but when you put wheel cog in it blows fuses take it out it will run but runs all the time cant put it off

Sounds like the mechanism has gone stiff for some reason. With the gearwheel out can you move the wiper arms by hand, that will check the wheel boxes and drive flex. The reason the motor runs with the gearwheel removed is that the gearwheel operates the park switch to turn it off at the correct place, no gearwheel = no park signal. Have you also checked you are using the correct rated fuse (10A IIRC)

hi thanks park switch solved its stopped blowing fuses it was 20 amps in when i got it got put wipers on without blades or the wipers and they worked put on wiper blades went to pot changed the switch in the motor cable went stiff when assembling will have another go tomorrow see what happens

abit late offf work but got wipers working with lots of swearing next projects are rear step tow bar and figure out why door tops comes away from bodywork at speed 70 mph {relative} gap lets you put your fingers into the wind

A gap you can poke your fingers through is on the large side. Might be worth checking the top of the door frame for cracks.
its a 94 tdi with two new, two part doors, was thinking door seals need replaced or doors needing adjusted but they look flush enough

I had the same problem with the two part doors on my series. New door seals and bending the top in a bit helped. I think the doors were designed for slower vehicles!
