What have you done to your Freelander today

'd like something like that myself but I doubt the wife would allow me to divert funds for such "frivolities"
get one section at a time .. spread it over months .. sneak it into safe hiding place ..
gather tools 'n materials .. take solo jaunt into the wilds
install induction system .. test drive ..
go home ..

i'll let know if it were worth it .. after a test drive .. or two .. :)

I finally got round to fitting some budget silicone boost hoses I picked up recently. The fit was ok except for the 90° elbow hose to the EGR valve. I needed to trim about 20mm off one end and 10mm off the other to get a good fit (offcuts on intake trunking). Otherwise they went on easy enough. I didn't use the hose clips that came with the hoses though as the original Norma clips are stainless and better quality.

Thay came off Ebay Mike ;)
There are several Ebay sellers, selling what appears to be the same hose sets at various prices. The set I bought cost just £41.91 which I thought was reasonable enough. I actually bought 2 sets, the other was fitted to a neighbour's car last Monday evening.

Thought they looked like em. I've held off buying them, a bit suspicious of the quality.
You'll have to let us know if they're ok, or if they split within the week :confused:

Quality looks OK actually. The material is thick and has reinforcement cords. I've no doubt that there'll outlast the car!!

I bought the same hoses and had to cut the same elbow. I thought it was because my car is pre facelift so a bit different but it must be a quality issue. I also had to find a bit of pipe to use where the sensor is at the front of the car cause the listing didn't make it clear it is for post facelift. The strength and material quality seem fine though.

i would definitely recommend it !! ..

engine much more responsive to the accelerator ..
quicker and stronger acceleration ..
am positive fuel mpg has improved ..
( shall let know by how much after a few fill-ups )
a.i.t sensor showing possible better air-cooling
( will know for sure next time we have hot-for-the-uk type ambient temps.
( as that's when i've paid most attention to the readings

the initial test .. to see IF engine performance had improved ..
was to use a Lower ' torque ' setting on the ron-box
and see what the engine response was to accelerator movement
was nicely suprised by the improvement :)

( so .. in theory .. might be a worth-while mod. to do
( on a stock hippo td4 ..
( and definitely a 'to-do' before a live ecu remap session ..

the mod effects performance thru-out the rpm range
but can be Really felt at the low and mid rpm ranges

stands to reason that the sooner and quicker the air flows across the maf sensor
the quicker the ecu will allow larger quantities of fuel to be injected ..

( i aim report observations in more detail at some-stage )

Not today but yesterday mot third one i;ve put it through and its passed all three in my time of ownership ,mechanically all ive done is service and one track rod end , battery in three years . Trev
 
I hate those annoying rattles, squeaks and knocks that cars develop as they age. A bit like those ailments that people suffer with age too.

Pardon me Nodge, (Apologies in advance. I've edited your reply back a little).
On a personal basis I've recently noticed my bodily functions becoming a little more audible. In particular a gurgling sound when passing water first thing in the morning, my knees making a 'creaking' type sound when I stand up and, I hesitate to mention this, but, an occasional 'squeaking' type sound after spicey food. Please advise.
P.S. hd3's engine looks neat.

It's nice to have the A/C no matter where it's aimed!
Today I did a scan on mine so that Blackbox can send me the activation codes for my diagnostic computer.
My first job will be programming a spare fob. Pity it can't clone the transponder keys, I'll have to go to a locksmith for that.

That's a mean looking Hippo Diesel Do!
