all fixed :)
i let my local garage have the pleasure of doing this for me, for a small sum.
Id like to have done it myself but its not an easy place to get too and as i need the car asap it was just easier for them to have the pleasure.
£400 s worth of pleasure
thanks again for your help guys, and gstuart, yea, id like to have it plugged in sometime to see what else is expensive lol
and it would be good to meet a fellow freebie.

cheers all

glad u got it all sorted out and saved all the skin on ur knuckles , lol

doesn't sound a bad price either and at least it comes with a warranty

if ur ever at a loose end and want to pop over for a cuppa , can easily plug the hawkeye in for u to see if anything shows up and can clear any faults , too

Help (again) My 1999 TD5 has let me down once again! After buying a new battery 6 weeks ago,I left my Landy for four days and when I tried to start it,the new battery didn't have enough charge. I live in Germany and so it's not easy to find a good Landrover mechanic.I just read in a German forum that the tD5s alternator cannot be repaired but has to be renewed! Is that the case? If not, I would first replace the coles (is that the correct name? Any suggestions out there would be much appreciated. Thanks - in advance. PS: If the problem has to do with the "coles", how big a job would that be?
