Disco 1 disco outer arch repair ..

Chopped out the rust on the outer arch .. luckily the other side is still good because this looks like it's going to be a pain in the ass.

Is there supposed to be 2 layers? Doesn't look like anything I've seen online ...

when I replaced mine they were just a single layer, I wonder if someone has just stuck a new panel over the top to cover the rust that would be my bet.

The layer underneath is solid, the arch section I chopped out was welded but with pin holes so had rusted out again .. the other side is the same but doesn't have any pin holes and is fine .. if only they spent another 5 mins filling the holes!

The second layer seems to span half the width of the arch along the entire thing .. strange, I can't work out why they would do that.

Where exactly are you looking, don't forget there is a reinforcement plate for the seat belt mounting.
