Took down the headlining to discover it full of water. Need to track down the leak and seal it.

Filled the hole in the rear capping to prevent water gushing in, and sealed the capping to side panel gap with clear silicon - a job for the summer is to replace the capping.

Took off the intercooler to flush, dry, and refit

I've fixed one of the leaks on my injection pump. The throttle shaft,brass bush, rubber o ring and gasket have all been replaced. Took the top off the pump and took it to local diesel specialist who supplied and fitted the parts for £35. Took it home refitted everything and bingo she's running again no worry's. Now just need to nip up one of the outlet ports on the metering head or discover its the head seal that's gone and get that sorted and I'm in with a chance of passing the mot soon

fitted new wiper motor and rack, now have all the wiper components renewed.
dash board back in tomorrow after sorting switch and wiring for spotlights and fitting the FM modulator, thought I may as well while the dash is in bits.

Fitted a new modified crank case breather to the freeloader,seems more responsive,!?

Discovered and repaired a hole in the footwell- the probable cause of my 90 having its own water cycle. What's been happening is the carpets get damp, the heating evaporates the water out of them, which condenses on the roof, which then drips down the door pillars and back into the carpet. Dried out the carpets and repaired the leak, nice and dry May invest in some sort of front mud flap to deflect water away from the bulkhead/footwells.

Retro fitted a high level brake light.

Seeing as it was nice out this afternoon I went out and gave the Land Rover a service. I also took the drive flange off the front of the transfer box and changed it and the oil seal in an attempt to stop the oil leak there. I also noticed oil on the bottom of the main gearbox too. It's either coming out of the place where the two parts of the R380 are joined together, or out of the bung. I hope it's the latter. It doesn't seem too severe yet so I shall wait and see. Transfer box refilled, engine oil and filters changed and fuel filter changed, I sat in the cab and started the purge cycle (it's a TD5 and you've got to let the fuel pump run for a while to get the air out of the fuel system) and listened to the whirring, bubbling noises which seemed to be more like Niagara falls than usual. On looking out, I discovered that the fuel filter wasn't fully sealed against the housing and was puking diesel all over the road. There was something wrong with the rubber ring. I took the rubber ring off the old one and put that on instead and looked at the large lake of diesel in the road. Although I wasn't intending to do so, I washed the Land Rover and gave my spillage a good hosing with the pressure washer in the hope of dispersing it a bit. That'll keep the street looking wet 'til it gets dark, at any rate, then I can move the car and pretend it wasn't me.

Off to Wales again this afternoon. The overdrive unit didn't get as hot as last time, so it must be running in now.

Then out to go and buy some wood to make some shelves with, and get a few groceries

Briefly got stuck on the M1 with a broken throttle cable. Used some scouting skills to rig up a temporary hand throttle with a bit of string

Took out two front seats/small bits of checker plate de-badged ready for respray next weeked

Fitted a winch, just need to have the opportunity to go out and try it

Loaded it up with flat pack wardrobes from Ikea

Used it to pull out a big pampas grass, a bit overkill but made the job easy.

Sealed the roof joints on my 110 with green house tape, which is bloody brilliant by the way.

Was going to do full set of pads, oil, air, fuel filters and oil change.

Only managed filters and oil as everything I touched went wrong.
Oil filter would not undo. chain wrench just crushed it, ended up wrapping in course grit sandpaper and turned it with brut force.
Rear bolt on the centrifuge cap, stripped out the tread, had to release the housing bolts and drill out to take a nut and bolt, not easy to get at the rear nut position so oil filter had to come back off, messy!
water drain tap on fuel filter snapped off to! had to find a bolt as a temp replacement, altho will just leave as is probably.
made a **** of draining the oil, mainly the draining oil went in the tub but the last bit took a liking to the tray top side, ran thro, dripped on drive, yes just off the massive sheet of cardboard!

Simple tasks you'd think but sometimes...............turns to ****e.

Pads in the morning, then off to the pointy end of the country. Helping out on whats left of the farm since dad-in-law passed, lots to do including starting the tractor, its been stood still for 2+ years!
