Disco 2 Blackpool lights

My disco has been stood in my workshop inside forna few months now. Last moved it about 2weeks ago.
Went to move it today and it wouldn't start.
Nothing. After locking and unlocking I was able to get something but wouldn't start.

Here is a video of whtas happening. Any ideas ?

Checked the battery and its reading 7v battery is only a few months old.
Could this be the cause ?I suspect it's something more serious

I would charge the battery first as 7v is never gonna turn it over

With a reading of 7v there is by far not enough juice to run a TD5!
Mine won`t start with less then 11v and when startet runs down to 9.5v (reading from NANOCOM) till it cuts out.
Give it a new battery or try loading the old one prior to the next try.

I tried this once, broken alternator and I had to go through a very long tunnel here in the alps.

I had 3 Amigos. Local specialist plugged in diagnostic and it came up with loads of errors. The guy laughed and said my battery was to blame. I fitted a new battery - no more 3 Amigos and no more errors. The moral of the story seems to be that a duff battery will screw up all the computer and sensor readings. Fit a GOOD new battery.

It is a new battery!
Going to put it on charge tomorrow when im at the workshop and see if she fires up.
I suspected low battery as the horn (when you central lock with bonnett/door open) was very faint and weak sounding

Also if you did drive it with a super low battery you will probably end up with the Odometer flashing, which is a PITA as you need to plug into a Testbook to reset the fault (if you want to, Im not that bothered by mine flashing and reading in Km!)
If its a new battery, check that its charging, as my recent episode showed me a brand new fully charged battery will run down to 9v in about 3 miles!

So your battery is a few months old, your vehicle has stood for a few months and you moved the vehicle presumably with the engine running.
To replenish the current drain from the battery with starting an engine it would need a drive of at least 15-20 miles, and that's not taking into account the battery drain taken by the security system and the central locking or any other quiescent current drain present that a D2 may have.

It's no supprise that the battery is flat, if the battery is new then hopefully it's not fatal.

Charged the battery today..fired up fine
Discool - never considerd the lack of driving with the drain on starting it..so does make sense now
