After an astronomical quote from Flux of £600+ for my Discovery 2 TD5 with 10 years NCB I saw Annettes & Orchard mentioned on a facebook group and gave them a call. They quoted me the exact same policy as Flux for only £324 so I went back to Flux just to see what they could do. I was then quoted £309 for the exact same policy they previously offered me. I gave them some mild verbal and a lecture and then hung up on a dumb ass who didn't have a clue, just read off a script.

Anyway, I switched to Annettes & Orchard who's owner Tom Orchard is a seriously stand up bloke. Being a smaller outfit than Flux they don't work weekends but I messaged him on facebook this morning (Saturday) about a Defender 90 300Tdi I was going to look at for my wife and needed cover on. He was out green-laning at the time but said he'd be back for tea time and he'd arrange my insurance then if I could somehow trailer the car back (which I just about managed). The 90 I bought is heavily modified and as I had no NCB available as it's all on my Disco I was expecting a heavy policy (around £600 - £800). He came in at just £224 full comp and even emailed me the papers this evening to show I was covered. That's what I call a remarkable service and one i'll be using for many years to come. Anyone looking for a good quote and an excellent service by caring, knowledgeable staff wouldn't go far wrong giving these guys a try. They are well worth it and it's like dealing with friends, not an insurance company.

And he's a landyzone member as well, what a guy :D

Very kind of you to take the time to post though mate, really appreciated :clap2:

One slight correction, it's Annetts & Orchard, without the e. Just to help any google searches ;)

a bit easier to remember is our other web domain 4x4 Insurance that points to our site anyway.

Thanks again!

This is good to know... I will be looking to switch later in the year :)

Wish I knew about these s couple of months ago when I renewed Adrian flux have always been overpriced and poor service used them on a Landy 15 years ago never received a certificate from them when I phoned they said didn't need a copy.
I said what about tax and if I get stopped I was told to phone if I needed one for these reasons demanded one or I would cancel.

You won't regret it Rosie I assure you.

It was only after Tom Orchard offered me an amazing price on my new policy that Flux offered to half theirs to a few pounds cheaper than Orch offered. F*** them from now on. I'd like to see someone from Flux (or any other company come to think of it) set up a policy for a customer on a Saturday evening when the offices are closed to make 100% sure they are covered! Try ringing Flux 2 minutes before they officially open on a Monday morning, no chance until that clock strikes the hour of opening! Annetts & Orchard go beyond the call of duty for their customers and that's the kind of company I want in my corner if anything goes wrong.

Renewal not due 'til back end of year but have made a note of A & O and will contact them nearer the time. Always good to hear a personal recommendation.

Top guys got my 300tdi Disco insured fully comp with them back in November for under £220 (3000 mile, 2nd car policy as my D2 Td5 is my daily vehicle) I now have both my Disco's insured for almost what Flux was charging me for just the 300tdi.

I keep spreading the word. :)
