Well i have finaly sorted the motor, stripped the 2.5 put it back together with a mate and now it running better than ever.
On to the suspension .
Looking to get it sitting level, would like a little lift from the original height, but not to the extent that i will need to spend a fortune ironing out all the issues that come with +2 lifts and above.
Read through many forums about this and just getting more confused by the contradicting and product biased opinions.
So if anyone can give me some good advice it will be much appreciated.
I wont be doing serious comps in the 110,but i am off road a lot.
ruff country tracks, farm tracks ,and dry river beds, that sort of stuff.
Usualy carrying 4 people and some mountain bikes, kit etc.
Looking for a strong reliable set up ,
4 springs 4 shocks .
Did read a post somewhere about using Landy Hd springs all round with a good shock, would this achieve what im looking for.
while i am at it going to replace all the bushes.
Which kits do you recomend, and should i go for comfort ,hard or off road.
Thanks.

Have you ever had problems driving the sort of routes you mentioned with the standard suspension?

You'll be surprised what it'll do without spending money on it.

I've never seen any one who thinks that replacing all the bushes provides good time spent/ride improvement benefits

Never had problems with where it goes ,its just that the suspension is tired, and needs changing, most of the bushes look perished and cracked this is why i am replacing them.
Im not changeing things without reason the parts are worn .
I understand that all these type 110's sit lower at the front as the springs are rated for load, and these models dont have a self leveling set up.
I was thinking of using a britpart 1.5 kit,and fitting a deflex comfort bush kit.
but wanted to see what set up other people had fitted and could recommend out of experience.
Thanks.

i found deflex bushes very poor quality , none fitted properly ,all had to be cut down and 1 failed within about 2 months ! id go for standard rubber next time as they must be ok if land rover are still using them

Fitted yellow deflex bushes tae my 110 with no problems at all. Also fitted the super gaz shocks and coils and if I remember they come with bushes. Quite a stiff ride, but ok under load.

Here is a pic of how it looks now.

next week i will be undercoating it replacing suspension, polybushes and breaklines.
will have a full set of nearly new Blistereen standard shocks including steering damper,if any one is interested.
Will post some more pics when its done.

i think landrover wur built for a bit of off roading and i know that a few armies around the world have allused LR's in standard guise with no problems..

unless yer gonna be doing extreme stuff the standard set up should be ok
