When I rebuilt my engine I brought everything from turners, but I only live round the corner, skimping on an engine rebuild ain't the greatest plan IMO

I didn't want to be doing it again in a hurry. But then it was £250 in gaskets only lol

Its one of those things, it costs money, you cant get around that fact nor do you want a rebuilt engine to run like a bag of spanners.

I wasn't skimping, if you look at the images on both websites for the same part number they both give the same images:oops:

Your slides should do just fine fella, just be careful with blue boxes and Craddocks.

That's why I like to go in and see what they are putting on the counter, it's a bit more of a ball ache when a load of blue boxes turn up in the post, at least face to face I can tell the where to stick 'em

only because someone either doesnt know which is the real err607 or is making do using the earlier part, they will work but the tdi followers are different because they thought they needed to be during design

Right o,

After a bloody cold 54 mile round trip on my sons moped I finally picked up the correct timing gasket, unfortunately they didn't come into stock until after 1pm so I had a good old look on youtube (iraqveteran8888). Got home at half four and got to work:D

Timing cover on with new seals...

Injector pump and pipe gubbings back on after a bit of a clean up

New gasket and o ring on the oil pipework then got busy getting all the old sealer off the sump and giving it a good cleaning around the mating surface but then got a bit carried away and started cleaning the bolts:D

It can come off the stand tomorrow so I can build the rear end back up then hopefully if the weather is ok I should be putting it back in, I'll do the timing belt when it's back in so I can put the locking pin in the bellhousing.

(Note to self do not overtighten the poxy belt this time fat boy)

Then it's start her up time fingers crossed....
