I know that nobody knows me. Nevertheless I will spend 2 week in England for holiday with my girlfriend. We both drive Defenders. She also has driven rallyes in Tunesia like the Gran Erg or also the Super Karpata in Rumania.
I don't like competitions any more, but I love to be out and get some distance from the job etc. And because of that I love green laning. In Germany it is nearly impossible to find legal lanes. Through my job as a soldier I have "some" experience.
In England it is transparent with the OS maps, but I don't know the vicinity so I would like to join some other Land Rover drivers who will take me with them on a nice offroad trip through their beautiful land.

Here in Germany some offroaders sell this green laning tours. This is not my intend. My intend is to use my car for what it is built and this is not for the road or for shopping in the City.

So, are there users who will show us the muddy side of England?

Hi K,
I'd be happy to show you lanes in the Peak District. We have a group that goes out Laning in this and other areas on a frequent basis. PM me with dates etc and I'll see what I can put together for you.
All the best

Welcome to Landyzone! There are a huge amount of lanes around Torquay and the South Hams and although I know where they all are I have only ever ridden them on motorcycle. Maybe someone experienced in 4x4's around this area would be willing to take you on a tour as I'd gladly join in but don't have any recovery gear or recovery experience I'm afraid.

Daniel - normal advice is not to go laning without another 4x4 with you. Most
lanes are easy but some are more challenging. There's not always a tree handy to winch off if you are stuck. Also, any vehicle can have a breakdown. In this scenario you would need another 4x4 to drag you to tarmac for the recovery services to assist you. Put a specific 'Torquay Laning' thread on LandyZone to ask for a another Landy to go with you:)
