Ex police p38 4.0 v8

I have a 2002 ex police p38 I think it was the chief constable of galloways run around, anyway it is fitted for but not with a spare battery in the boot[factory fitted].Does anyone know if this system is isolated when the ignition is switched off,or is it live all the time,is it worth me butting a second battery in the spare battery box that is fitted in the boot.

From what I remember on my old ex police its fitted with a split charge system to run power to keep it topped up so you find its live like the front battery

Thanks for that I was hoping it was a split system,I will investigate furture in the better weather and get it sortered out before next winter. DH-T

The second battery is to run the cattle prod used when questioning suspects.
