So today my window decided it had enough and stoped working on the coldest day so far this year and of course while open... I can hear that the cable is binded up in the motor so i pulled the door panels off to see if i could simply try and pull them free obviously without any luck. Can this be fixed with the window assembly still in the door if i unbolt the motor and open the caseing to try and free up the cables

I think there are two screws holding the motor to the regulator so if you are able to get at them it will allow the window to go back up, then refit the motor to hold it until you can get a regulator repair kit.

Thanks but now i have another problem it wount start !!!! I hope its a dead battery but everything seems to be working fine head lamps arnt dime radio windows dash everything but when i lock the doors from the inside power locks they actuate 3 or four times rapidly and my key fob isnt working but i know the battery was almost dead in the fob before

Iv got the charger on now but is it normal that it doesnt try and turn over at all when i know it has at least some batery power. Any other vehicle iv owned you would at least hear the starter try to turn over

What happens when you crank it ? ... nothing ? ... a clicking / whirring ? talk us through it ...
Check the fuel solenoid connection ...
The fuel pump in the engine bay on it's way out ?

Iv only had it 2 months but its got 70,000km ran fine all day parked it to look at the window power was on during this time about an hour, tried to turn it on to move it and got nothing no clicks no buzzes nothing something weird with the locks they actuate rapidly 3 or 4 times, battery connections are fine i have no multi meter with me so it could be the battery but usualy you would get something its not completely dead like i said everything else works lights radio instrument panel

Sounds like you needs the codes read to sort this, it may be one thing or a combo of several ...
Do you have a good Landy independent garage near to you ?

No unfortunatly not i live in austria now and i havnt found one close looks like im going to have to go make some new friends lol

I've had batteries die very suddenly, an old battery that seems to working ok (not noticing any issues with it) then suddenly proper dead, often throwing up weird electrical anomalies on the way!
I'd definitely try and get hold of a multi meter and check it if you can

Im starting to think its an imobillizer isue now my key fob is dead and im pretty sure the chip is in the fob not the key and im getti g the blinking red light on the dash im pretty sure it should go out with the key in ignition or when it picks up the sognal from the fob??? Im not sure and iv seen lots of debate over the freelander 1 as to what years have a key chip or a fob chip mines a 2000 will replace batterie after work and try again

Problemsolved... It was the key fob put the new batterie in locked the doors with fob then unlocked and thankfully it started up no problem
