Sure is but the car has been used on some rough tracks in the forest hauling firewood

This 4 tyres is a real mallarky - when i bought the Td4 it came on 4 new hankook AT's. now they are starting to wear a bit the wet grip is really shocking.
Saw the other day that the RH front tyre is down to the nylon on the outer shoulder so its fecked.
Thought about buying 2 but didnt want the same s**t Hankook's - so ordered 4 all season Grabbers - lets see what they are like ..............

will then have 2 slightly worn Hankooks to sell.

And the shockers - the car is very soft and bouncy when coming to a stop - in addition the shocks bottom out when taking a speed bump a bit fast

they should arrive tomorrow so maybe time to get them on before we go away for christmas.

Hopefullyl i can get everything done before any snow comes !!!!

Pulled my starter today for the second time in two weeks. First time was to replace the solenoid contacts because the car wasn't starting; today because yesterday it didn't start again and I wanted to check the contacts. Looked like they had rotated a little when I had tightened them down before, so I straightened them out, added a locknut, tightened everything down good and proper and reinstalled the starter. Then when tightening down the battery cable I noticed that I accidentally let the post rotate a little, so I took it out again and rechecked the contacts. Sure enough the corresponding contact had shifted, so I straightened it out again and reassembled. First try the car didn't start but it did start each of several subsequent tries. I was tempted to pull the starter yet again -- getting pretty good at it by now! -- but I'm working out of doors and was running out of daylight. I think I'll give it a week or so to see how it behaves then pull the starter to inspect the contacts. If all else fails I'll just bin the starter and put in a new one.

What's that saying about not having time to do it once but having the time to do it twice?

Replaced the clutch master cylinder seems to have done the trick
Moved this out of the way made things easier.

All shock's removed - new Dobinson springs fitted tomorrow . Replaced the diff' side seals while I was about it.

what a job...............technically simple but rusted bolts and stuff
and who designed the rear shocks so that you have to open the brake circuit to remove the shock - fecking idiots !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I know what you mean! I looked at slotting that bracket like the front ones are to make it easier - next time lol

Owned it now for 20 months and today it got its second wash - just to make it feel good for Christmas

I didn't have time to wash the car today... work and then I did my Christmas shopping - a day earlier than usual!

Liking the CF there, How did you do it, Wrap the original in real CF? Make a new CF part from mould or is it just sticky stuff? The door handles on my wifes car have already been painted at least once but need doing again.

New back box, old one was hanging off, new lower engine mounting. Think it's stopped clunking now.

Got up very early and saw the sun rise for New Year's Day. Duffers Saddle 1220m 6am. Then went on to the Old Woman Range and the end of the road about 1600m.

Its the cheap stuff off ebay. It is quite strong and pliable under heat but not the most adhesive. I found the best thing to do was wrap it right round and super glue on the rear. It stretches nicely but you do get left with a tiny crease when wrapping it on inner angles. All the coloured interior parts have been wrapped apart from the sides of the stereo, I even did the piece of trim between the glovebox and airbag and the little switch panel on the drivers side.

Might have been cheap but still looks a whole lot better than the rubbush Landrover put there.

Nice vid HTR. Looks like some serious rain channels cut in the track. What camera do you use, and how is it mounted?

Camera: It's an Ambarella 801 1080P - no internal battery, no GPS and I run a 32Gb micro SD. Stuck onto the windscreen to the right of the rear view mirror. You can pick them up very cheaply mine was $89NZ.
Techmoan did a review on these. It's not great at night and the microphone is crappy. It's small and inconspicuous. It records the video files as H264. They are something I've not heard of, a Traffic Stream format [TS]
