is it possible to fit some comfy after market seats such as buckets or recaros and preserve a centre seat?

Any suggestions. My seats kill me and are really ratty now.

Thanks

Hi Mate,
I've shoved in Mazda RX8 seats, which are also heated, leather and the driver's side has electric movement. They drop in very easily after some grinding, and fit almost perfectly if you use seat extension rails. They fit with a cubby box not sure about centre seat. I've written a thread on fitting one on here have a look.
Best bit is you can pick them up for 100 quid.

Pretty epic that Coffee. I really wanted something i can shoehorn a middle seat in with. the boy loves sitting there next to me and the wife.

I had a set of Scooby seats with the middle seat still in. They do hang over the middle one a bit but it will help keep the young one in place, cos you won't fit an adult in it.

There was a thread on here where somebody had fitted Range Rover rear bench seats in the front - required a bit of a mod to the wheel arches, I think. Often available quite cheap & in fair condition, as they don't get the wear of the front.

Otherwise, why not have your existing seats refurbished - Exmoor are the big name, other firms do exist.

Refurbishing the originals is the most cost-effective solution. The problem is, often the comparison is made between worn and sagging old seats with replacements that are either new or in much better condition. The foam gets old, broken up and lumpy over years. I replaced the base foams, reusing the outer covers as they were in good condition. It's a simple enough job to do yourself. And of course, they fit perfectly with the middle seat :)

Defiantly want some comfy after market seats for better back support but keep the middle. Having read the airbag stuff with the rx8 I light look at scooby or some old ford recaros. I can weld so not too worried about the frames. Just wondered if anyone had done it
