tyre wear on both rear wheels

I have a problem with wear on both rear wheels on my 2000 D2, the tread on the inside has been totally destroyed. I have replaced the watts linkage bushings any ideas please.

you need a full chassis alignment. If you front is out of alignment it can cause your rear tyres to ware. It is called dog tracking

The rear wheels can't possible be out its a live axle ,unless it's bent,cheap tyres?rubbing somewhere?wheel bearings knackered?

Entirely unrelated - do you have a Sapphire Cosworth...?

Would love a sapphire cosworth,they have independent rear suspension,usually when they are lowered or being driven in anger from the lights the wheels tuck in the arches and show a lot of camber,so they will munch the insides of rear tyres,but on a live axle it's impossible for it to camber wheels,

if you have worn bushes and sloppy bolts,bolt holes then yes axle can shift. It dosen't take much. or the chassis could have a slight twist, if it has been off roaded hard

Banana bend in the rear axle so it's actually towing out, been dropped on a kerb or such like.

If there were worn bushes etc yes the axle would move ,but the vehicle would just crab and be out of align,both rear wheels should stay parallel with each other

yes they would be parallel with each but not with the chassis. which would lead to dragging the trye side wasys on road surface causing the inside edges to wear

Wouldn't drag the wheels sideways,the rear axle will stay parallel with front axle but the body will be driving Squint with the rear end out at one side or the other ,that's crabbing,if both rear tyres are wearing on the insides the wheels are either toe out or cambered

How long have you owned it? if you've just bought it they may have been on the front and put on the rear because of the tyre wear.

Ive seen cheep tyres do this for no apparent reason
