L322 Smoke, strange noise, engine failure.

the car was not fit for purpose. the car had the faults when purchased unless he can prove otherwise.

it is his responsinility to make it of merchantable quality. yu may choose to let him repair it at his costs or get your money back in full.

Ok we finally have the car back. Apparently the following parts were replaced.

Head gaskets.
Water pump
Alternator

However after a 160 mile drive today I have had to put in almost 4 litres of coolant.

WTF !! there's either something wrong there or the garage are muppets and didnt put any coolant in.

Sounds very bad as they would have had to bleed the system when they did the work so they either did it wrong or you have a leak.
Did it stop needing coolant or did you just stop driving, if it's overheated again then the head gaskets could need doing again.
Did they charge you ?
