Bosch injectors?

Hi all, I'm just in the process of buying/replacing the head on my Discovery tdi300.

As I'm going to the trouble of keeping the old girl running (welding machine next on the Xmas list ) I'm going to put in new injectors and heater plugs...

My question is :

Is there a 'stamp' or something to verify that injectors are genuine bosch?

Send the original injectors for refurbishment

Mate, I live in the middle of nowhere, where the 'professionals' are not... Only way to get a good job here is DIY.

I can get a set of 4 for £200 from fleabay and then have a spare set of 4 for both my Discos.

Where's the middle of no where? Tried stalking your user name but didn't work.
I do know that there are dodgey copy injector nozzles out there marked Bosch BUT are not.

The middle of the Auvergne is nowhere enough..

So if you buy from ebay, I assume they get posted to you?
Well that works in reverse, you post your injectors to http://www.dieselbob.co.uk/index.aspx for example(i can recommend him, had mine done there) or another company, and they do there stuff, and post them back, its like magic!!
You then end up with a like new injector that you know is genuine, its win win

That sounds perfect! Can you give me an idea of price(s)?

Dieselbob has a website but don't know if prices are on there.
It's bread and butter stuff to any diesel injector place.

Yeah.... Spotted that after I posted. Doh!

Maybe they are a good company but I had no response from various emails, which doesn't bode well. However, after a phone call I had a rough quote of £40+ plus vat per injector.

Won't be using them as I need someone who I can rely on to deliver, they don't fit that critiria.

I agree, Cant understand the ops problem with him, ive had 3 jobs done by him, one of which nobody else would touch(so called black death on the merc engine fitted to the jeep cherokee) set of injectors re-furbed, and a fuel pump re built, all were done excellently, and a lot less money than other companies, and quick turnaround.
But its a free market and some people are happier paying more because the company they choose have someone to answer the phone and emails quicker, when its the engineering knowledge they should think about.

Personally, I'm not happier paying more , for anything. However, if the system of contact is available via email, then that email system doesn't work, regardless of anyone's 'knowledge' then as a point of first contact it isn't a good indication of the business being communicative, reliable or responsible.

I can write that he was friendly and forthcoming on the phone, but given the ****e experiences I've had with professionals in France just of late I'm not about to deal with anyone who can't get the basics working.

YES - look for the little BOSCH symbol it's down on the nozzle assembly.

Thanks. Took a chance and bought 'new' at half price on ebay. Alll good
