After having mine knicked i have decided to sort out my own!!

I refuse to be ripped off to the tune of around £800 so i have decided to build my own!!!

Obviuosly theres still a way to go but i reckon it will have cost me less tgan £100 to make these up!!!

Not at the moment but it will have the round defender lights in and also the round defender style indicators with some small sidelights!! Its gonna look quite good i reckon!!

I cant afford cree at the moment, maybe version 2 will have full hid's but for the moment it will be halogens.

Ive seen some 90mm hid types with high and low beam. Like what the new busses have but they aint cheap!!

Have you thought about, using the earlier style D2 headlights, much cheaper.Bit of fettling and should be easy.

i was going to do that john but to start welding bits on and making up brackets and stuff to align them woud be a minefield. the defender stlye lights have adjustment within them so as long as i get the panel verticle and can get the direction of the beam correct im on a winner. i can also space out the lamp unit with washers to give me some extra alignment or even chuck a 'adaptor ring' of some descripton in there.

i have looked at many options and this one seems the easiest.

i have also located some relatively cheap projector headlights http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/headlamps unfortuneately i have got the others now so i will save this for V2!!!

Will be interesting to see the outcome on this, as people know, I do like lights, and have looked at several ways to get rid of my facelift headlights with aftermarket ones that don't take in the water so much!

I prefer projector headlights as these are better to convert to Xenon, but to get projector lenses that are stand-alone and not required to be inserted into Headlights is really difficult and expense! As I had looked at going the route you have with the metal sheet and headlights attached to it.

with a bit of luck i will be on version 2 next summer and have either the cree style or the bus style ones!! i have just got a job driving busses, subject to me passing my test, so maybe there will be a couple about or a discount to be had!!!! i havent changed my career path just to get a pair of cheap lights tho chaps!!

The lights are back!! Just need fitting!!!
