P38 mpg and range display problems.

Does any one have an idea why my display for mpg reads 99.9 and the range reads 999 .It was working I don't know when it stopped as I don't like to look ,all the over values ie average speed and trip seem to work ok .
 
Have you tried simply resetting them? Occasionally my astravan randomly gets confused and corrupts its economy figures.
 
I do try to reset them sometimes I get 65mpg and 650 range but now its reading 99mpg and 999 range if only .I had the speedo out about 4 months ago when I did the blend motors .I will take the speedo out and check the plugs in the back just in case its something I did but it was working just after I did the motors.

True....but if the multiplug was dicky, I'd have thought you wouldn't get anything or if you did it would be garbled....reading clearly 99.9mpg and/or 999 miles I would have thought means the display is working fine but being given wrong information from the BeCM....

Could try 'Turning it Off and On again' in the BeCM settings to see if it clears out some duff info in the memory....

Yep that is worth a try. Only mentioned plug because OP said he had had cluster out and it's worth a look.
 
If the multi-plug isn't pushed home firmly and squarely then you get these figures -
so I'm led to be believe!
 
Right folks I took the speedo out this morning cleaned the multi plug put it back in pushed the wires to make sure they are home and the display is now working,if it stop's I will let you know RESULT thanks.
