Hi,
My wife is currently down in Somerset, approx 10 miles from Yeovil

She drove the 300 miles from home in North Lincs without incident, but whilst there, the car has starting making quote 'Horrible Noises'

I am not averse to getting oily, and know my way around...but was unable to diagnose the 'metallic' noises emitting via the loudspeaker of a mobile phone!!
I've just given it a full service 500 miles since, with oil, filter(s) and new hoses etc. and ran fine

I'm arranging a hire-car to get her home (2 dogs so not Recoverable as she won't leave in the car) but prior to getting it back up here to find it's a noisy release bearing or something, can anyone recommend someone local to the Crewkerne area for reliable fix/recovery...or if passing would be willing to have a quick 'shufty'?

Thanks

Holty

Holty,

We got recovered once with the hound. Recovery driver was fine with it in the cab.

(what im saying is make sure, before spending out)

Im out of town for a week or so (m25 area) but otherwise am devon based.

Hi JulianF
Thanks for the response. We have 4 rather large gun Dogs (2 of which are with Mrs) and also the Mother in Law is with her too. I think it would be an uncomfortable 5-6 hours back in a cab...and one's a pup and won't settle. I've plumbed for the safety (and less stress/earache) with a one way hire...if the Freelander is goosed. Even so, she's lost confidence in the car to drive back 300 miles to possibly be stranded on the hard-shoulder

Buckshot has been and had a look and his opinion there isn't a serious problem. He's recommended a local indie to get it checked out tomorrow but fingers crossed wife, car and dogs will make it home together
