That's a good price. I've just looked on the Ashtree site and their prices may have come down. I will have to check my invoice! Maybe there is increased competition by the likes of LR Refurb Yorkshire springing up. (If they just have)

Yeah maybe.

On another note, Iv finished off the rear axle now and put some wheels on it so i can move it around. Hopefully I'll be able to finish the front axle by the end of the week.

Iv been looking at paint recently and it's all very confusing, I can't decide what to do. I need to hurry up though as I want to get the bulkhead painted as soon as i can.
I want to paint it in ford imperial blue but I can only get that in a topcoat and lacquer, so I think I'm going to settle for 2k acrylic as it seems easier to do and Iv never sprayed before. I just need to try and find a blue that I like.




 
Haven't noticed anything untoward with mine yet! It's bolted to the chassis at the moment while I sort out the bodywork. I've put a little bit of filler in the front corners to smooth it off a bit. Otherwise it looks ok (fingers crossed) :)

I'v been playing with the front axle today. I finished off the swivels and rebuild the front hub assembly, wheel bearing etc. fitted the springs, seats and retainers. Then changed the diff pan plugs to magnetic ones and filled them with oil.


After that I thought I'd have a go fitting the bearmach polybushes into the radius arms, they didn't want to go in at all, I think im going to have to take them to my local garage to get them pressed in, anybody else had any problems like this with polybushes?
 
I polybushed my 110 with flo-flex and they just pushed in. Have you got a vice? I have,(vodka):D You can grease them to help.
Just looked on paddocks website and they supply polly bushes for narrow and wide radious arms. I wonder if the bore is different aswell?

If you take those metal tubes out of the middles they'll go in a lot easier. My Superpros looked far too big to go in, but using the grease supplied in the kit they were persuaded into the holes, after a few escape attempts. Then grease the anti crush tubes and force them into the holes in the middle which by now will look far too small, but with grease on they'll submit eventually.
 
Its a while since I did mine, I used the dreaded Britpart but they have worked out ok. I pressed them in with a 5Ton press and they went in nice and easy, a vice would certainly do the trick with a bit of force behind it, just make sure you get them going in straight.

I have got a vice but it was a bit tricky trying to get it all square by myself as the arms are quite heavy. I should be able to get a mate to help me tomorrow.
The earlier type arms are narrower that's why they supply different types.

The tubes are not in yet but like you say they look too small but I'm sure they can be persuaded into the holes.

I'm going to have another attempt tomorrow and if I can't do it I'll take to round to the garage and use a press.

Whatever you do don't let them paint it !!!!!!!!
i had mine from them a few months back and lets say i had to spend a weekend getting the primer off and the seam sealer because they made such a mess of it

the paint was not keyed at all in places it just pealed off
 
If you don't have a vice that's man enough, just use a length of threaded bar with some thick washers. Wind the bush in first, then wind the steel tube. The bushes are quite soft, they won't take much effort.

It's coming etch primed but I'll be priming and painting on top of that. Hopefully it'll be alright

That's another good idea, if you havent got any threaded bar use a long bolt! Threaded bar might actually be a better idea and help pull it in square if you are struggling to support the arm.
 
Looking good James, not convinced with your poofy colour scheme but you are certainly cracking on with it, especially considering your broken neck you eejit.

I notice the rear axle still has the rubber donut on it, I assume you are planning on changing that for a normal one? simple enough job once you get the nut undone.

Once you've got this done, get your butt down here and sort my 300 Disco for me!

Iv changed he donut now and it got a normal one one it :)

What's up with the disco now? Is it still sat in your garage with the head off?
Iv took the veg oil kit off mine now too, well Iv disconnected it all anyway, so you can have it back at some point.
