cleaned out intake manifold (full of crud) put it all back together very pleased with myself until i discovered i had lost one of the 11mm nuts that hold manifold in place cannot find one anywhere bugger:mad:

Think ive got a broken IRD :censored:
just happened all of a sudden, i already have the rear prop removed ( was like it when i brought it and has driven faultlesly for the 8 months of use) but i pulled into a layby to let some one pass and all of a sudden that horrible gear grinding noise, more consistant on the over run. Got it home and thats where it stays.
Now the question is....do i get it fixed? Got quotes around the 1000 mark
ive just put on 4 new tyres, front calipers, discs and pads, full filter kit and oil
Does it ever end? lol

mate would be just as cheap and much better to just rebush the mount using uprated polly bushes

that was my thought too but I'm struggling to find the bushes - could you point me at any? Tried Powerflex but they said they don't do them despite that I see Nodge68 found the right bush here

to get back on-thread, tried to remove the front CV joint from the prop shaft with out taking the prop shaft off. Getting the bolts off was no problem but I failed to get the CV joint casing open :(
Will have to take prop shaft off to service the CV joint :(

Cheers
Simon

Fitted a ronbox synergy 2a to my 2003 td4 freelander today. Cant believe the difference! Its a different vehicle and i wish i did it years ago. Anyone thinking about getting one shouldnt delay, easy to fit(took me about 1/2 hour) and well worth getting. Got it set to setting 3 with the original bosch maf. No smoke, tons of poke and fuel economy is noticably different already

More what I haven't done. Not topped coolant up since getting stat' changed 'bout 500mile ago.

Did manage 27 to the gallon on a run the west Mids and back A16/M6. Best I've got out of it.

Finally got my hippo to the garage in the last four days done timing belt ,water pump changed two tyre`s another two to do tomorrow. Pick up a bypass thermostat kit fitting it tomorrow all that`s is left is a clean change gearbox and redo bearing in ird as its out at the same time ,also going to fit lift kit sort stop and tail light`s lights make a sump guard remove rear box as its knackered if it does not sound to load replace with tubing and also make some side /tree bars.

Hi divvy
Just reading about you picking up your thermostat bypass kit, I want one for my td4 but unsure of which one, is that the one you cut into the top hose ? Where did you get yours from? Cheers

Where abouts did you wire that up to and did you need to remove the instrument panel to fit it? I take it they have a light bulb holder style screw thread or something to hold them in place.

At the moment they are fed from the ignition live on the fuse panel (through an inline fuse). There's a handy wire route almost straight down to the fuse panel.

Just had to remove the top of the cowl, there are two moulding webs either side that the sockets fit between, and the sockets have backing nuts to secure them.
