Any of you engineer types got any empty large drill or tooling containers. Looking fr a couple of largish ones pref about 210mm long and upto 80mm diameter or a tough flat storage box approx 210mm long x 100mm deep x 80mm wide

It's for storing my drill bits, in the drill case. So they aren't all over the place everytime I open a drill case.

Happy to pay beer tokens to cover postage etc.

Cheers

quality street tubs is what i use - and you get to eat the contents ;)

other good ones are baby milk cartoons - they are about 200 diameter and 230 ish high (ish!) polished aluminium on the inside.

The milk doesnt go down well in tea mind.

I want summat that will fit in the drill case. Hence the size's I want. The yellow boxes in the pic is the sort of thing I'm looking for.

Wrap them together in their individual sizes with rubber bands.

You keep ya Blue peter suggestion to ya self :p

I want proper smart boxes for my drillbits. & as every machine room, cutting, milling tool or large drillbit comes in them same plastic boxes. There must be thousands of em floating about..

Here's my box. bit in the bottom for long ones. the lil box on the left is a hilti masonary set , fits 6 or 8 iirc.

box is 500x350mm

Mines a Makita 3Kg sds Drill & when the lids shut, the bits fall out of the drill compartment. anything over 16mm Dia or 200mm long, lives in the Big Makita Breaker's box and is fine. But the smaller ones that I use a lot, live in the small drill box. which is where the problem is. That red box left of pic would be ideal.. I'll be nipping over the workshop after the weekend & there's an engineering company there. Will see If I can Pikey summat off them.

I have one of those drill case thingys lying about, it came with a hole saw I bought from ebay. If you are going to lz, I'll bring it with me

lot of the hilti sets come in the lil red boxes like that. worth buying a set or two?

sets ~ £10

Not sure if they are compatible with makita though. you could always buy a couple and give me the bits :D

Cheers I've got a drill case Well several actually. but due to the crap design of my MakitA sds drill's case, then bits end up scattered all over everytime I open the case So just need a container that will A: fit in the drill case's comp[artment & B: hold the smaller SDS bits. I'm actually thinking of using a empty Silicone sealant tube. cut to length, or even 2 if they'll fit in the case.
