Front propshaft phase offset

Are the Britpart ones designed to go on the Disco 2 too? So no "key spline"? Can you pop them apart and twist to correct angle and reconnect? Cannot remember how many splines there are but should be easy enough to calculate angle from number of splines twisted.

No idea. I haven't popped it apart either. I'm sending it back so don't want to damage it. They're not right out of the box though.

The picture of shown on your link Wammers is different to the propshafts I have seen on P38s.

The ridged rubber boot is different so I don't think we can trust the image Rimmer Bros are using. More likely they're just using a generic image of a propshaft for their shop.

Many people all over the world have reported on Land Rover forums that the front prop shaft is phased slightly.

I have three genuine ones here that are all phased.

The picture of the front propshaft in RAVE shows the UJs at either end to be out of alighnment.

I think you're wrong. The evidence that they are phased is pretty compelling.

Constantly stating "Front props on the P38 are NOT phased" in light of this much evidence to the contrary is not going to help people looking for help with this in the future. Or are you arguing semantics?

FTC4140 is the front prop from the petrols and manual diesel. TVB000130 is the front prop for the diesel automatic. Neither are phased. Only phased front props on Range rovers are fitted to classics. Range Rover 2 does not have phased props. But carry on, no skin off my nose.

They have to empty the stock bins somehow. Problem is Land rover supplied genuine P38 front prop shafts are NOT phased. What part of that do you not understand? Classic front prop. http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-FTC122

There are two front prop shafts listed for P38 Range rovers according to Land rover Microcat. Both the numbers i have already posted. Neither of them is phased. Land rover may have used old stock from the Classic, also owners may have fitted the wrong shaft. It doesn't really matter either way. But if you are looking to buy a new front prop for your car according to VIN, do not expect it to be phased even if the one you remove is.

How much evidence do you need? Order a new prop, it can only be one of two part numbers according to what model you own, and see what you get. Look at the bloody parts list.

just to add to my post of ages ago regarding this - I have changed dozens of uj's on p38s and have never found a front one "in phase" yet ... all have been offset out of phase, all have had a key spline and all have been nice and smooth after wards.

They were fitted with the wrong front prop shaft then. Simples. As i have repeated ad nauseum. There are only two front prop shafts listed for the P38 and neither of them is phased. If you order a new front prop from the VIN number of your car you WILL NOT get a phased front prop. What part of that do you not understand? If you do get a phased front prop it WILL NOT be the correct part. It will fit and function but is not the correct part. Of course Land rover and their parts list, and all the manufactures who make pattern parts to the part numbers maybe totally wrong, but i doubt it.

They look like they're after market ones not genuine ones fitted by Land Rover at the factory. They're also just photos on a shops website, not official documentation from the manufacturer.

Looking at the diagrams in RAVE, in Microcat, looking at actual parts taken off actual P38s and comparing them to the aftermarket parts you're showing us here, and on top of that countless other people's experiences I'd say they're wrong. As are you.

Can we just leave it now? If you can't accept you're mistaken after all this I think you're just never ever ever going to accept it.
