Hi there I,m new to the Fourm and was wondering someone with gearbox knowledge can help.
We've recently purchased a 2009 Def 110 TDCI that came directly from auction that appears to have a very recently fitted recon six speed gearbox.
As we got the vehicle home it was noticed that the gearbox was leaking oil, we could see it was coming from the top of the gearbox but couldn't see where, we've removed the gearbox and PTO and it looks to have a bung/blanking plug missing and the oil is coming out close to the inlet for the clutch bleed nipple.
I've spoken with my local dealer and they say they can't see the part on there system so can't order it, also on the gearbox output shaft into the transfer box there's a plastic shroud held on with a cable tie holding the shroud on, that also looks a bit dodgy but didn't seem to bother it when driving, so I,m thinking would this be fitted because it's got a PTO winch
