Wilts/Dorset/Hants laning.

Starting a thread for round this area as there don't seem to be one.

Any trips planned will be edited into the first post to make details easier to find.

Anyway. Planning a laning trip for the easter weekend. Can either do it good Friday or easter Monday.


Route was recce'd by myself and Cooper267 2 weeks ago and mostly involves lane driving, very little road driving.

Starting point will be the bull in Downton. Postcode is SP5 3HL. Meeting at 9am to set off at 9:15. On the 6th April.

Will then drive from there to shaftesbury along some very nice lanes as well as a few tight ones. Shiny vehicles may want to pass on 2 of the lanes in particular.
Also have a ford to cross at one point during the trip.
And then come all the way back to Salisbury from shaftesbury along one single lane with no roads at all.

All in all ends up about 6 hours worth of driving.

Yep was an absolutely lovely day for it.

Hopefully Monday will be much the same.

Hi. Yep planning another trip along the route on Monday. We plan to be at the bull in Downton for around 9am now.

Nope I haven't been up there. Not planning a trip up the plains just yet. Maybe April/may.

Spent most of the day yesterday to tinkering with my disco ready for tomorrow.

You boys should travel up further hamlshire way near Alton meet up with me and some of the others, got some very good challenging lanes round here I think you'd like! I like the photos look good!

Wouldn't mind doing just that!

Definitely give us a shout next time your thinking of going out and will see if we can make it up there.

No worries mate! I'm sure we'll plan many more trips this year. So keep an eye on the thread.

Could possibly be doing the plains next month/month after.

Salisbury Plain trip is being planned for the end of April if anyone is interested?

Awesome! Should have a date/times for the trip by the weekend at the latest.

I'm in for the next one (with kids, wife and dogs!)
