saw his ad and it did look easy
ive tried others on a couple of sports and never totally fixed the warning coming on

think I will try his this time
 
if the warning is overheat or pressure static when filling then you are in with a chance i guess, depends what the warning is.
If the bore is warn rather than the piston then probably wont help much but mine seems ok since fitting his piston
 
that another vehicle a sport,tried them on on two occasions
this is for the l322
coming up with air suspension inactive and
self levelling suspension inactive
 
Does it give you any codes ?
When i bought mine, the suspension was inactive as a front airbag was leaking.

It is a common fault to need a new piston ring so it may well fix your problem but you would still need diagnostics that are capable of clearing the fault as well as reading it.
Allcomms is a favourite, what are you getting ?
 
ill be using the launch system

cleared the fault yesterday but it came back within 20mins
then the garage shut

fault cleared was too much power to front axel

The ECU will know how much air is going to each bag and therefore how much that corner should lift which it detects from the height sensor.
If it's taking too much effort to raise the vehicle it will fault out to stop the rest of the system self destructing by trying to keep up.

Have a read of the competition below to see if this sounds familiar.

Do you get any drop in height when it's parked up?

Interesting, how does the ECU know how much air is going to each bag?
As far as I know, it just opens a valve and waits for a response from the height sensor to show that the corner is rising (or falling)

Must gauge it by the drop in pressure from the air reservoir
 
I get a reading off my faultmate for the reservoir pressure as i was checking it after it had stood for a while to see if it drops.
The following is from Rave but is only a small extract.
Even if there wasn't individual valves for each spring the ECU knows the air pressure being supplied and if that pressure doesn't result in the expected height change on the individual height sensors it knows something is a muck.
Well that's my interpretation anyway. i believe, when off road especially, the ECU can control each air strut independently to maintain the best traction and handling.

The air suspension reservoir is fabricated from aluminium and is located under the RH sill of the vehicle. The reservoir
is secured with four bolts to the underside of the vehicle. The reservoir has an additional bracket on the forward facing
end which provides the mounting for the valve block. A pressure sensor is screwed into the rear face of the reservoir.
The sensor is connected to the air suspension ECU and measures the pressure within the reservoir. The pressure
sensor cannot be replaced. If failure of the sensor occurs, the reservoir, complete with the sensor must be replaced.
The reservoir supplies pressurised air to the four air springs, via the valve block, to enable the air suspension system
to carry out ride height changes.
Valve Block
The five way air suspension valve block is located under the RH sill of the vehicle, and is mounted forward of the air
reservoir. The valve block is held in place on the air reservoir support bracket by 3 studs and secured by nuts. The
studs are bonded into rubber mounts which isolates solenoid operation from the vehicle.
The valve block contains five solenoid operated valves which are controlled by the air suspension ECU. Four of the
valves, known as corner valves, control the air flow to and from air springs, via the cross-link valves. The fifth valve,
known as the reservoir valve, controls the air pressure supply from the reservoir to the air springs, via the corner
valves and cross-link valves and also from the compressor to the reservoir.
 
after clearing the fault all seems well
there might be a slight leak from n/s front airbag
ive ordered the repair kit regardless as pump seems to be working harder than it was
does point to leak
 
Really soapy / bubbly water sprayed onto the bag will sometimes detect a leak but try at different heights as sometimes the bag folds over and covers the leak. You would need to change them as a pair and i wouldn't go for the dunlops as they seem to have some faults giving an annoying rattle / knock.
