Hi, Long time since I've been here I hope you lot are all well. Does anyone know how much I can expect to pay to have a new rear 1/4 chassis fitted to my td5. I see you can get'em for £314 but I don't know what labour was involved.... cheers

do a search, there is a mobile welder up here from barrow in furness, he travels and from what i read and have been told is very good and reasonably priced, it has been on here, so a search would bring it up, good luck

done it, Cambridge cockney had his done, PM him

Thanks for the reply, I've tried a variety of searches that brought up nothing, he's a long way away, it'd be a 3 day job for him

It's only fairly recently that D2 repair sections have come on to the market, so there isn't a huge number of people out there who have had it done.

Our son cut out the rust on his D2 and welded new metal in, that was three years ago this April, nothing available then.

My November 1998 build D2 is getting to that stage now, but the very early ones seem to be doing better than the later ones for some reason.

I have a spare chassis waiting to go under mine, it has been shot blasted, Zinc sprayed and powder coated in semi-gloss black.

My LPG tanks are due for renewal too, so as we have a fairly good mechanical situation right now, I'll wait for the MOT in July before I make a decision.

Peter
