does the ron box replace the ecu?

at the minute the jeep will not start as the previous ecu was damaged hence getting a replacement that needs recoded

Ah! No, I don't think so.
I think it is a tunable chip thingy you plug into your existing ECU.
Why not just go for one from a scrappy?

sounds like u need a dealer im afraid and a t4

the synergy tuning box is a completely seperate thing and just alters the performance of the engine,

not sure if a hawkeye would do it, but has the facility on them to resync the ecu for the immobilser and reprogramming of keys

with regards to the main ecu , supposedly it will only carry up to 10 codes in it, and after that a new one has to be bought , unless that the immobilser ecu , not to sure im afraid

I know there are people on here that are more experiance with regards to the t4 and hopefully they will be along to help

as yours is a 2000 do they have the chip in the key

or is it the main ecu that's controls everything etc

but think that u may end up buying a new ecu as u don't know what a second hand condition is and if it can be cleared and recoded

think there around the £400 quid mark, ????

but don't quote me on that

sorry I couldn't be more help,

The replacement CCU needs to be the same part no. and Revision no. or higher than the original and then it should be possible with Test Book,T4, Auto logic or Faultmate to do it providing they have the software. The settings on your original are retrieved and saved then copied to the replacement. There is a good chance that the keyfob plips will have to be retaught and this can be done with the CCU software. Additionally,it is likely that a security resynch will be required and the engine ECU software used.
Test Book, Autologic and Faultmate/Rovacom can do all of this provided the necessary software is installed.
Apart from Main Stealers a good Independant should have the kit but when I was in Ireland for 13 years (1999-2012) apart from Stealers, hardly anyone had generic diagnostics and I travelled from Donegal down to Kerry helping fellow P38 owners out with system problems.
I know of an Independent down Co. Wicklow way has Autologic if that helps.
