Engine management light started flashing, ran lumpy and now the light is on constant.

AA arrived. The guy is a grump and is currently revving #### out of my cold car.

110 different fault codes in total. It's being recovered tomorrow and I'm going to make full use of my AA Breakdown Repair Cover.

AA man thought it might have been a fuel pressure problem because the fuel level was nearly on red, so he put ten litres in. I think that's only because he revved 10 litres of fuel away.

Look at the ****e that came out when he'd finished though...

They will be mostly historic. What reader was used?

No idea what reader was used to be honest. Apparently there's an issue with some cap that's placed right at the back of the engine.

She's on her way to Hatfields Liverpool.

Ok, so Hatfields Liverpool called me this morning. They've been really good to be honest, although they've taken their time to come to a conclusion. The diagnostics was showing a mis fire on cyclinder 5. Having stripped the engine down as far as they are willing and doing several tests the conclusion is that they recommend replacing the engine. Their quote is £10500!! lol.

So, what do I do next?

Ive lost interest in it now. Ive obviously bought a dog. To be honest, if someone wants to take it off my hands, it's theirs....

...it's gone on Autotrader for £1800.

LOL replace the engine, unless you've got a cracked block or something they're definitely having a giggle.

Its probably oil in the injector loom !. £35.00 to fix.

Im just dissapointed for you as the whole " new engine " thing sounds like someone doesnt know what to look for.

Disappointed is an understatement. I've wanted an old Disco for ages, and I searched high and low for this one. I got hood winked. The person that sold it to me will get their comeuppance, I promise.

Still think you should keep it and investigate yourself and learn how to fix it.
you did say you wanted an old Disco for ages.
You'll struggle to get one that doesn't need work at some time in the future

By the way, your old Disco is younger than my pride and joy Disco
