dunno if this could be the reason but yer piccies reminded me of a similar thing that happened to me.

i was doing the head on a fiat(ah think it wur a fiat) anyway the head wint come orf and i had it suspended as you have and still it wint budge.
it was during one of my jumping up and down on the wing sessions that i noticed one of the head studs moving.
on closer examination i found the problem.
some **** had snapped a manifold stud, drilled it out and re-tapped it. going straight into the head stud. so there was no way it was coming off like that. once i took the manifold stud out the head jumped off.

so maybe they have tightened a manifold stud onto the injector

The previous post is a good idea but why havent you just removed the whole head

A gasket is cheaper than a new engine and much easier to do.

Get the head off remove the injector and replace in one full day :)

top plastic cover £235 injectors £175 each ( most likely get damaged in process total cost £1200, on a 105k engine

guarantee that if you only replace the one injector the other three will do the same after a short while....!

well if ur havin that much trouble gettin one out you can probs bet there all stuck in like that:(

Was going to suggest removing head anyway, just so you could get the pleasure of tapping the fecker with a drift and sledge hammer.
BUT, in the link below, guy had similar probs with a merc and he welded a 3/4 drive socket onto the injector and screwed the bugger out in a clockwise direction. Worth a pop?
