Hi all new to this
I have 2008 2.5 defender have fuel problems I think
Just took tank out some crap in there cleaned out
Just can't find lift pump it's not in tank just a sender unit but every where I look tells me it's in tank and it's not help needed

One pipe goes in plastic cup at bottom which is the out would pipe but no pump or moter there's no way it sends fuel out far as I can see
It's a 5cilinder engine gather it's not called td5

how many wires ar going into the unit?... if it's only a sender only two wires will be there, if there are more wires some of them are the feed for the pump... afaik in 2008 the Defender was equipped with Puma engine which is 4 cylinders, Td5 deffinitely has the pump in the tank so does the Puma so i dont know what kind of hybrid you've got there, or you just dont want to get it... see this http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/what-have-you-done-your-defender-today-81374-11.html ... take a direct link from photobucket and insert in "img" or simply attach a jpg pic with "manage attachments"

Far I can see it's the puma engine but there is no pump in tank only to wires going to it and no pump ?

The big white sender unit you removed - were the fuel pipes connected to this?
Normally the big white sender unit is both pump and fuel level all in one. If your fuel pipes weren't connected to this then you don't have standard landrover gear.

It dose but only to wires and no pump never been out since new I think one of the first puma engines this is what I can't under stand defo no pump there

how is the fuel getting to the rail then?... and where from? ... upload a pic of that sender of yours cos i start feeling rather in the "twilight zone" than landyzone:eek:
