Decat pipe has finally arrived.
Just been under there to have a look. I already know that the cross member needs removing. But does it also require the transfer box taking out aswel?

Looks like it has been replaced with a new one at some point. So really don't fancy having the box fall on my head.

mine went in with simply jacking up the chassis and allowing droop between the axle and the chassis to wriggle it in, why does the cross member need to come out?

Because it looks bloody tight in there to get the old cat out. The new pipe is just a straight through pipe so sliding that in won't be too hard.

If you jack up the front CHASSIS enough, you will create enough wiggle room to pass the old pipe forwards and out of the vehicle.

I also remove the three nuts that hold the pipe to the turbo via extensions, from underneath. Use a 6-sided socket.

Hmm that is a bit unnerving. I've only got the length of pipe from the flexi to the coupling where the center box should be.

OK, let's try that description once more.

The exhaust downpipe shape overall is a large L. It is joined to the turbo with a 3 bolt flange plate and gasket, then descends to the flexy mesh-covered section and IF it has a Cat the next bit is larger and has a corrugated outer skin - this is the cat - after the cat is more tube which leads to a 2 bolt joint onto the centre silencer box section. After that more tubing, over the rear axle to a rear silencer box and short tail pipe.

So which bits have you got?

From that ebay link i don't have that.
All i have is the section of pipe from the flexi link. To the flange where the center box should be (already removed).

Was hoping that the cat would slide out of the flexi link and new pipe would slide in.

To be honest mate I'm not sure that you are really getting this. A catted or non-catted exhaust downpipe ALWAYS starts from the turbo and ends where it joins to the centre silencer or it's replacement straight-thru pipe.

If you've got something different to that in the picture, it's not std. equipment.

+1

I am getting this.
I need to post a pic so you know what i mean.

As said i don't have the pipe from the turbo all the way down to the back box. Just a straight section from the flexi link to the flange about 3ft long.

This is the pipe:
