Hello.
I know this is a Topic that has been discussed at length on this forum. My V6 has now done 106 000 miles, i got it on 89 000 miles and apart from me replacing a leaking thermostat and damaging the engine ecu . I have had no problems with it.
I am looking at doing a auto box oil change, and looking for a suiotable fluid.
1. Has anyone tried a replacement fluid other than Texaco ATF n402 and unipart ATF-J403e ?
2 If another fluid has been tried, has it been tried on a long term basis, eg more than 40 000 miles?
3 Have any of the Caltex ATF fluids been tried Havoline ATF-J or Texamatic 1322S been tried and tested by any users on this forum ?

The Jacto box has been used in the Rover cars, Jaguar Xtype, Ford Mondeo and VW polo and Golf, some folks on the Jag forum use a different oil to the landy spec and ford also use a different oil to the landrover spec

Regards Frank.

I have just got off the phone from Landrover Zimbabwe having spoke to the spares department and then the workshop foreman. They tell me that you can replace the Texaco ATF n402 with castrol dexron ll atf fluid. The foreman assured me this fluid will not cause any issues and is readily available in Zimbabwe.;)
