Well time has come to get rid of the V6. I've been looking for a Discovery 3 for some time as a replacement. Yesterday that replacement came home. I was wanting an SE or HSE, however all the ones I'd looked at were over priced junk.
So I settled on a clean 2 owner D3 with full LR history and new air compressor that has been looked after. It's only a basic manual modal but it's clean and was affordable.

My V6 Freelander looks like it's going to my mother in law, so I'll still get to play with it at service times.

I'll still stick around here and be over on the Discovery section too.

Here's my new D3

looks really nice, how do u think it compares to the freelander, comfort, handling wise

is it true the body has to come off to do certain jobs or is that the later models

would love a d3 but well out of my price range

may i ask is it a diesel , has it got the split rear tailgate , like the range rover instead of one big door

Handling and comfort is much better than my V6 Freelander. There's no comparison, the D3 is in a different league. Actually it's it's not even in the same sport.
Apparently some jobs do require the body to be lifted off the chassis, but not many.
I could only afford a well looked after poverty model. I wanted a high spec one but they were bags of nails in the price I could afford.
Some of the features that are missing, I'll retrofit.
The only thing that I would have preferred would be the auto, however they were more than I could afford at this time.

Thank you. It's been a pleasure. I hope you Freelander is happy with the work you have done to it and repays you with many miles of trouble free motoring.

Thank goodness I thought you were leaving the site completely. You are one of my saviours on here. Always giving me sound advice. So I am happy you are just around the corner. :)
