We pull the plastic wiring loom channel out now to do the rear belt especially on D4, gives you a bit more room to get your hands in and saves taking the body off.

Yeah that would help :)

Id probably do 1 with the body off so I know where everything goes before doing one completely blind :p

bloody so called mechanics, they know feck all about servicing or repairing vehicle correctly.:p:D:behindsofa::D

just jestin ayresy.yes i have heard of problems with the filter, but one's that have jammed but never coming loose.Hope it has not done any damage.;)

Yeah ive heard of them jamming

Ive bolted straight through the housing now with a nyloc underneith (bit of a bitch to get to) but itll never come off again now :D

Yeah me too

Yep, Housings are only ally so stripped threads are easy done if you just wang it up tight.
As you say not going to come off now :D

Had a play tonight with wheels. I had a hunch our D4 alloys would fit my D2

And they do !!

And it looks awesome :D :D

Shame my disco alloys dont fit over the D2 brakes

Which got me thinking ... if the wheels fit and the stud pattern is the same... will the brakes fit ? As this would be a preety awesome brake upgrade

Well ths discs fit on the bolts and are a assive improvement over the D2 brakes and you can see here how much bigger the carriers are and so how much bigger the brakes are

Couple of problems though the disk sits over the bolts fine but isnt a tight fit on the centre this can be overcome with a spacer though

And because the D2 disc has a deeper dish there is a gap between the bolt holes for the carrier and the D4 carrier

This could be a bonus for a fitting kit though as the holes dont line up between the carrier and the D2 holes due to the size differnce so an adater can be made to make it fit.

I don't know if it would be a cost effective or overly useful mod but there must be applications for increased braking performance ? :)

I wonder what D3 brakes are like in comparison ?? Hmmmm

Changed my front pads anyway as they were abit low

Had the other side off last week when we did new brake lines to the back and they looked fine so never looked too closely at this side but they weren't as good as the N/s so both fronts have been changed :)

1 less thing to do before morroco :)

Like the idea of larger discs, dunno ho wmany people would actually buy it though ..

At least your pads are wearing evenly .. ;)
