Suddenly had one of those oh-oh moments the other day, so decided to check when the Mot was due!
Yep, it certainly was due! Say no more.....
Got it booked in at my local independent garage the next day and she passed with 1 advisory. The sidesteps are very rusty underneath, so I was very happy. So now looking for some for her.
She , being 2001 TD5.

I have a set that I took off mine, I have wired, red lead primed and hammerite topcoat so they will last longer now than a new set which start rusting as soon as they are fitted, I want around £100 if you are interested.

Where in the uk are you please, and how tidy are they. Any chance of a pic or two?
Bradford, There is some pictures of them on Gumtree, If you can't find them i'll have to get rlass to put some on, As I am useless at all that technical lark. They are solid and the rubber is still in good nick, There was just 1 stud that I couldn't get off the motor though, But I'll have another go if needs be. They are genuine ones with the front mud guard built in. Cheers, Dave.

No MOT issues for sidesteps on my 2001 XS TD5.... She hasn't got any! :D

Seriously, if someone knew the steps were in a rough state (you did not), then come MOT time the steps could be removed so as not to be tested.
We all know that no one wants a thing like a sidestep dropping off at speed, but knowing that such a thing is not an MOT requirement might help in getting an MOT urgently, then acquiring/repairing the steps at a later date.
