Great work Aaron. Would love to see this in the flesh when it's done. Really want to do it myself. Never mind the neighbours, the wife's face would be a picture when a daf45 arrives on the dirve

Of course, Goes without saying, You or any one else are welcome to have a look before, during or after it's done :)

I'd liked to have had a look at one beforehand my self, But hayho.

 Yes, I can imagine the reaction.
My neighbour went mad, God know's what her reaction would have been if the Daf 45 horse box turned up that I originally bought :D

Very kind :)

Have you thought about the air filter arrangements? Did you get the truck one with it? I presume it's going to need something bigger than the standard affair to be able to breath unrestricted.

Looks brilliant Aaron very interested in this!

Cheers :) Everyone seems to think I'm mad :D

Well as I say, I'd have liked to have a look at one myself.
So I don't mind helping others, As I know how much help it is, Seeing and talking to someone who has actually done it :)

It's still a way's of yet, The main problem is getting all the bit's together.
So I'm working it out a bit at a time.
For example, I have bought about £100 worth of hoses, clips etc. over the last couple of days.
Whereas when it's done, I should be able to say roughly what people need.

Air filter, Most people seem to use a big K&N, But think I'll try it through the standard lr box first.

Just realised I've got a pic, This is the air inlet, As you can see it's rather large :D

How easy will the K&N be for making water proof for wading? Might want to take 2 land rover air filters and make them, modify them into the inter cooler for max air flow. A twin snorkel type system

Not done anything for a couple of days, Been waiting on bits.
Should have a fair few deliveries this week, Ordered all the water pipes, New filters, Few other bits and bobs. And worked out what I need for the power steering.
Turns out hydraulic fittings aren't cheap
Just need to make a final decision on a prv.

Did get a couple of bits today, But I'd already started having a shed sort out

New quinton hazell alternator and some fuel pipe.

New 12v starter that I fitted the other day. (has to be spaced away to prevent it being in constant mesh) Done with washers for now. Will get something made up at some point in the future though.

Test fitted the alternator, It fits and theirs tension on the belt.
So that's good.

Not the best pic, But because I have fitted the cummins pulley on a transit alternator it sits further forwards than the rest, So I need to remove some material off the alternator.

Not hard to put the pipe in a different place though.....could easily put it on the outside of the cage or run it over the engine to the passenger side

You don't even know if Aaron will even need a snorkel

Don't like the K&N idea myself, So I'm going to try it through a standard lr air box, If it doesn't like it I'll have to come up with another plan.

This is how you snorkel a 110 6bt

Yep seen it before, Got a fair few engine mods on it anorl :D

I was only asking about the airbox because it looks tight in the engine bay. I was wondering what sort of box would have been with the engine when it was in the lorry - maybe that would be suitable.

In terms of cooling, are you thinking of a big rad like the TD had (with oil cooler) and separate intercooler or std 200 tdi.
