Lightweights in the U.S.

I really love the look of the lightweight, but there are, as near as i can tell, NONE in the U.S. Does anyone know a specific reason they cannot be shipped over here? We have all the series' with steering on either side. I have a Santana 109 ex-mil. Thanks for any info if any of you have any on this.

I also recall a few years ago a guy posting a thread via one of the forums regarding his newly acquired Lightweight being shipped to him in the USA.

Sweet i just need to sell mine and find someone to buy me a lightweight from Holland and ship it to me. should be easy lol

Thanks for the link and information. If anyone has any more info/experience on shipping Land Rovers over to the U.S. Please chime in.

Lightweights are not at all uncommon here in the States. Friend of mine has one, and I've seen more than a few here.

If you do buy one to bring over just make sure it's not dodgy on its paperwork or modified (200tdi in a IIa or a v8 or coil sprung hybrid...) And you should be fine. Play it straight and you will do OK.

See that's the kind of good info i needed. As for lightweights not being uncommon, well i think you might need to re-calibrate your common meter Obviously these things are regional but i have never seen another series LR on the road here in Central VA. I met one guy at a lowes who said he had one. Haven't been able to find a Lightweight for sale on Ebay or and more local sights though since my original post a couple people have pointed me at some old sales.
I probably would have wanted one with a 200tdi or something like that as i use my current aas my daily. So thanks again for mentioning that as a no go for shipment.
