I presume the plug you can see on the left is what you're looking at. It connects to a speaker in the sub woofer housing.
Also note the dry compartment. It's the most dry example in Freelander history following my amazing modification.................

That would be the carefully folded loo role that the door traps in place when it's shut!! It catches all the water on it's way down from the leak just above the top door hinge. Compartment has been bone dry ever since (use to be a constant of around 2 inches of water) and Preston sees a lot of rain!! I just swap it for a dry piece as required which is about every three or four days of heavy rain !!!

Now that's what I call a top tip! Just keep a roll of andrex in the boot for those wet occasions!

I sort of miss the sub woofer, but I really like having the storage space, but seeing as the sub woofer never worked when I bought the Freelander, I don't see how I can miss it
PS I've never had a sub woofer in any of my cars :lol:

Sub woofer didn't work when I got mine, fixed it by cleaning all the plug connections that had gone rotten due to swimming in all that water. Did that at the same time as I got the rear door speakers working again by cleaning all the plug connections that had gone rotten due to swimming in all that water, did that at the same time I took the door card off the rear door to cure a few electrical problems caused by swimming in all that water. Nice sub woofer though, makes me feel epic................

My sub was dead. Dodo like. Wiring seemed fine. So far my Freelander has been water tight, even when going through rivers that were almost 800mm deep

Not a rumour. Mine has never let water in. This was an optional feature that most people didn't spec

If you park it in water it will get in somewhere. A good place is the bottom of the B post either side. Hence I prefer to keep out of water. it only knackers things up and yer get board of fixing water damaged things after a while. If yer driving through water yer not really in it for long so it doesn't have enough time to seep through the holes/splits to get inside.
