Hi , new to the forum and am in the process of buying my first Landy but need some advice. I want to buy a tipper but can't decide between a TD5 with about 80,000 miles or a TDCi with 160,00 miles with full service history. Read some stories about the PUMA engine having various problems and would appreciate any feedback from those in the know.Site looks great and hope to use it in near future. Ta

td5 personally if nothing to do with the engine, the poor transmission extra bad build quality very thin paint etc etc

I'd prefer a late td5 to a puma, the pumas dash is very claustrophobic too.
Td5 sounds good as well.

110 tdci station wagon is'nt too bad as the seat goes back further but if its got a seat bulkhead then you need to be vertically challenged to be comfortable

TD5 by a mile, TDCi is a ford lump, many document problems and not as easy to service of fix if something goes wrong,

However 300tdi over td5, but thats because I'm biased towards and mechanical engine, not electronic wizardry

Td5 is a landrover engine and no longer made. They have there problems with heads, electrics, manifolds etc, but they sound nice. Tdci as said are ford, who do make quality engines. Millions of transits cant be wrong. Its a more modern engine, still in production with plenty of knowledge about them, so that would be my choice. I remember everyone hating td5 over 300 tdi when td5 first appeared ;)
