transfer box banging

Just wanted to know if anyone can advise how to bypass remove etc the transfer box on a 1.8 petrol freelander Y reg, only done 45,000 miles
it's banging really bad when on full to half lock in either direction

You haven't got a transfer box on a Gaylander. You need to replace the VCU and possibly also the IRD. You can find out how to do this in the relevant section on the forum.
