Evenin' all.

I've got some $hitpart supergaz dampers with some standard height springs. As you would expect, they're crap, the front left corner is sagging and I'm fed up of it. So I've decided to go ahead and order some medium duty Terrafirma springs and dampers, all looking very gucci and nice.

The question is should I bother with the Terrafirma RTC damper as well? Again it looks all nice and fancy, but will it be worth it considering I'm sitting on standard 235/85R16's? I'm halfway inclined to bite the bullet just to complete the look but some opinions on their actual usefulness would be lavely.

Thanks :)

I fitted one a couple of weeks ago, did quite a bit of reading first and it's pretty much 50 / 50 between 'does nothing' and 'works great'.

I think that's because (in my opinion) it make a bit of difference, the steering returns more easily but it doesn't self centre. I guess it's down to expectation really. It looks cool anyway...

If you do get one put a jubilee clip round the spring where it feeds into the body of the shock, apparently the spring rotates so it ends up pulling to the right.

Think the Bilstein ones are suppose to be a lot better. I've a Terrafirma one in mine but it's not the RTC type. I might change it for a RTC version or Bilstein damper soon though to see do I notice any difference.

That's exactly what I am going to put on mine, Terrafirma Medium Duty, and the RTC steering damper.

Are you keeping it the same height?

Bought an rtc for mine. Notice a bit of difference but not much. Holds a straight line better when on motorway, and only really works on wet ground when off road, having said that there not expensive just a little time consuming setting up.

Got a standard armstrong one on mine.

Don't know why you would need a RTC unless you have big ass tyres and off road a lot??

If set up correctly, the steering should return to center when driving on road anyway.

yep, I don't have the RTC one on mine and even with 33x12.5s on -38ET rims and a 2" lift, the steering self centers nicely.

I've castor correction arms though which make up for the lift. I still wouldn't mind trying the RTC version though :)

Yeah I'll be keeping it the same height. I don't really have any issues with my steering returning anyhow, it's a bit vague but otherwise ok. Just an excuse to put even more new shiny bits on her though :p

I have one on mine. I like it. Really does centre the steering better than without. I have Mud Terrain tyres on mine so it does seem to help. The wife prefers it too.

My thoughts for fitting an RTC is the tyres on mine are 265s, and it might help the groaning steering box last a while longer.

Plus they do look good!

Mine is on Britpart shocks at the back that are ancient, and the original springs all round, that's my excuse to upgrade!
