Iv'e had my defender 90 pick up for about a year .Used as a worktruck.I now want to venture further from home but find the noise levels un bearable.I have fitted a full Wright off road sound proofing kit but not much improvment.Any idea's guys. How does anybody do a journey of 100 miles.Dont suggest i swap it for a discovery which i understand is o'h so peacefull by comparison.

Might be a symptom of truck cabs... my SW is ok on a long run at around 70 or so.

If all else fails, you can get foam ear plugs in boots that will at least halve the noise.

Cheers,

ive got my regular 150mile each way trip to bodmin this weekend. all you need is...

1x doris
1x good headunit (with built in amp)
2x 5inch 2way speakers
2x 6x9 3way speakers
1x mp3 player stacked with good tunes

that should do you ;)

once went to an airshow in a series 2a.
when i got out and saw a Harrier jump jet take off, i thought, bloody hell, that was quiet.

and pray tell where the f**k you fit all those speakers in a truckcab?

You could try wearing a helmet, that works in my other car.

or

just enjoy the peace of the noise, it means I dont have to listen to the hubby or the creature yacking about his day at school:D
